Destined for my 05 LaCrosse CXL when the current STP FS 5w30 fill crosses the 3000 mile mark next week. The car took a 900 mile road trip recently and the oil looks considerably dirtier than it did before the trip.

This car is new to me so my OCIs will be very conservative for awhile.

I was at my local Fleet Farm today to pick up a single quart of oil and I was surprised to see that they are almost entirely out, if not entirely out, of their lowest cost product offerings such as the house brand Resolute oil and Mobil Full Synthetic Top Shopping Holidays. Jugs and individual quarts we're both in low supply or out of stock depending on grade with 0w20 being the most impacted.

The funny thing is that if you go across the street to Walmart most of their higher cost oil products are low supply or out of stock to include things like Royal Purple, M1 EP, Castrol EP, etc. Again 0w20 was in shortest supply.

I just sold my E92 335i 6mt for a DCT F82 M4.

Not sure when the last time the oil was changed, so i'd like to do so.

From my research, i see that 0w-30 and 5w-30 are correct oils. I also see some people using 5w-40.

Since i'm stock, what oil should i use? (Car has 40k miles)

Any specifc oil kits you buy off of FCP Euro, ECS, or TMS?

OEM BMW, Liqui-Moly, or Motul?

6 QTS of M1 Synthetic (5.7 QT capacity) 5qts 5W30 and one qt of 10W30... WM did not have single qt of 5W30 so I had to go "thicker" and went with 10W30 for the 6th qt.
