Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

Well good keep us informed as to your results. An interesting sub note would be the oil you had to add on that Subaru Forester. If they could ever really fix that problem, I'd like to buy one before our only choice is an EV.
The oil consumption problem applied to the 11-14 Forester. The new models are fine, no consumption issues. My 02 Forester has 30K on the engine and has no consumption issues. I drove it through 8" of snow today, no problem.

Bought two filters for my 2016 toyota Avalon...one, factory filter at Walmart (think it was $7.50 or so). Two, Fram Ultra (around $10 bucks). The Fram does look like a higher quality filter, but who knows? Either way I'm set for filters for a couple oil changes. Haven't purchased any oil as of yet. But I think I'm going to run 0W20 Amalie for a 6,000 mile interval using the OE filter, then switch to a 5W30 from here on out and try a 10,000 mile interval using maybe Mobil1EP or one of the other 20,000 mile oils.

For the sonata i picked up 5qt jug of Mobil 1 5W30 synthetic, with a fram ultra filter.... that i returned for a Hyundai OEM filter.. BITOG taught me well in regards to OEM filters on Hyundai engines, and now use nothing else.. Will change out soon-ish on Sonata for the spring and summer run.

OT: I'm at a point in my life where I try to eliminate all possibilities of something going wrong especially when it comes to oil filters and things like that. To note, I never had an issue with a fram ultra filter on a Hyundai motor but the Hyundai OEM filters are actually a couple dollars cheaper than the fram ultras and they are made to Hyundais OEM specs, and since i change them every 6K max, the ultra's might even be overkill for my application.

Do not get me wrong, im not saying Fram is an awful filter, im just saying for my application in these Hyundai's with the 2.4L the OEM filters are a better fit, plus if something goes wrong with the 2.4L engine's in our Hyundais/Kias the filters won't be suspect.

That's all. :-D

From Walmart:
1 x 1 gal Rotella T5 15w-40 for Chev Blazer and Grand Caravan
1 x 5 qt Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage 5w-30 for Envoy that goes through oil like its water. The thing is on its last legs and we are trying to get as much out of it as possible. From what I've been able to glean from other posts, next to Rotella, Pennzoil is the best oil for helping to clean and engine and keep it clean. With the way it burns oil, there have to be mass amounts of sludge in that engine.

From AAP:
2 x Purolator PBL 24011 filters for 2000 Chev Blazer
2 x Purolator PBL 14006 filters for GMC Envoy
2 x Carquest 85515HD filters for Grand Caravan

Another day...... Another oil purchase.

2 5 qt jugs of Resolute 10 bucks each

Also picked up a defense DL8A oil filter that was on clearance for 1.59

Got a new to me car (2018 Ford Escape, 2.0L Ecoboost) so just did my first filter and oil stockup for it.

From RockAuto, since retail prices for filters here in Canada are insane:
4x Motorcraft FL910S oil filter
2x ACDelco A3626C air filter
2x Champ cabin air filter

Then went to walmart for the oil:
2x Supertech Synthetic 5W30 5L
1x Supertech Synthetic 5W30 1Q
1x Fram Air Filter (on clearance for $5)

5 qt jug of STP Synthetic 5w-30 and an AcDelco PF457G filter
5 qt jug of STP High Mileage 5w20 and an STP S2808 filter

Wish I got some more pictures but I got the following haul from two NAPA trips:
3 6qt boxes of Mobil Super 5000 10w30 API SN oil, $1 per quart
5qts Mobil Super Synthetic 0w20, $1 per quart
2 6qt boxes of Mobil Super 5000 5w20 API SN, $1 per quart

2 5qt jugs of NAPA Syn Blend 5w20
1 5qt jug of NAPA Syn Blend 5w30
4 individual NAPA Syn Blend quarts in 5w20 and 5w30

At the shop now, at least that amount.

Lastly, 3 ST2 oil filters and one Hyundai OEM filter.

This is my first time getting a seemingly real BITOG stash of some 50ish quarts, but oddly our mileage is quite low and generally about 10k per year per car. I used to be the type to just pick up ST or whatever a couple weeks before an oil change, but the ST price hikes and various COVID supply related problems of the last few years made me think it was likely a good idea to get a little stash going. I'm not normally a 10w30 user but it'll probably be fine in summer in my Fusion anyway, or if I get another older vehicle.

It's worth noting too these Mobil Super jugs except the synthetic oddly were likely fairly old, since they're SN only rated and not SN+ or SP. So I'm hoping for the best with them despite their age.
