I found out about Valvoline "Restore" when doing research here 4 yrs ago because of a vehicle we had recently purchased with an oil consumption problem.
Almost 4 yrs ago our new to us 2007 GM Yukon Denali w/all aluminum 6.2L had stuck rings, caused by 130k miles with a poorly designed pvc system in the driverside valve cover. I quickly discovered a GM TSB which involved a valve cover change and a piston and combustion chamber soak. I did these and all has been well for the last 4 yrs and 50k miles.

What's your reasoning for adding 2-quarts of EC and why use Lubequard, or any additional additive for this process?
2 qts of the EC b/c my W8 is a 9qt engine...just rounding up a bit following their 1:5 dosing recommendation. The Lubegard is for the auto trans.What's your reasoning for adding 2-quarts of EC and why use Lubequard, or any additional additive for this process?
