He might switch to 1000 mile OCIs!If you changed oil once per year for 10 years and there was 5% of 5 qts left behind (0.25 qt), then theoretically the residual oil left from the first oil change would only be 0.05^10 = 0.000000000000098%. The oil left behind from 3 previous OCIs would still be only 0.000125%. Even leaving 5% behind from the last OCI isn't going to hurt anything. Some auto makers recommend changing the oil filter every other OCI, so that would add even more oil left behind.
2500 mile OCIs with HPL Euro?!??! Wow... Insane waste of money and resources.I don’t know of any case of extreme PM beyond this.
With that filter setup and boutique oil (+2 quarts over stock) just running to the OLM limit would not produce any additional wear …
