Post your latest oil change

2013 Holden Commodore VE2 Omega wagon, 3.0L LFW V6

165,000km (102,500mi) service @ 169,500km (105,322mi)
Out: shop oil, shop filter
In: Castrol Magnatec SUV C3 5w30, Wesfil WC04 oil filter
12,578km (7,816mi) / 7 months on old oil
That Magnatec SUV 5W30 is a nice oil, it carries MB 229.51 and dexos2.

I also use the Wesfil-Cooper oil filters. Great value filters.

2 Oil changes this week for me

1. 2006 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4.7 V8, 191,381 miles on vehicle, 4,737 miles on oil for 3.5 months
Out: Mobil 1 Truck & SUV 5w30 4.5 qts + M1 Euro 0w-40 2 qts, Toyota 90915-YZZD3 filter
In: Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w-30 4.5 qts + 2 qts of Mobil 1 Euro, Toyota 90915-YZZD3

2. 2024 Toyota Camry SE 2.5 I-4, 5,219 on vehicle, 3,9XX on oil for 2 months
Out: Toyota Synthetic 0w-16 4.5 qts, Toyota 90915-YZZN1 filter
In: Mobil 1 AFE 0w-16 4 qts + 0.5 qt of Toyota 0w-16 leftover, Toyota 90915-YZZN1

There’s just something satisfying knowing we are entering summer here in socal with some fresh oil in the cars 😀

P.S: Is it just me or did they change the shape of the Mobil 1 5 QT bottle ever so slightly?

2013 Mazda 6 2.5l

I've had the shop do the changes for the entirety of my ownership of this car. I just never wanted to deal with the potential mess.
Yesterday, I hiked up my big boy underoos and did it myself. I picked up all the tools to make it easy and clean. And easy and clean it was. The shop can do this in the winter. I love my local shop, btw.
{ Kirkland oil | Napa/Napper Gold filter | cheap drain pan | old baking tray to catch drips | Rhino Ramps | small square funnel that fit perfectly over the fill hole and engine cover }

Out: Cam2 Syn from the shop.
In: Kirkland 0w20 plus 0.3 quart from leftover for 5.3 qts.

2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L
Odometer: 139,850
5K OCI (5,011 actual). Time oil in engine: 3 months.

Out: 4.5 Quarts SuperTech Full Synthetic High Mileage 5W-30, Fram PH7317 Filter. Oil color was medium brown color (Neither light brown or dark brown: in the middle instead).
In: 4.5 Quarts SuperTech Full Synthetic High Mileage 5W-30, Fram PH7317 Filter.

2023 Honda PCX 160cc. Odometer right at 1000 miles. About 550 miles on the oil. Did the engine and transmission oils this change. Lucky for me Honda recommends 10w30 for both holes.

Out: Pennzoil Platinum 10w30

In: QS Ultimate Durability 10w30

Honda specs JASO MA or MB I believe but pretty much only their specific oils meet it in 10w30 flavor. The scoot has a dry CVT so I'm not concerned about running an energy conserving oil. I did it for thousands of miles on 2 previous PCX's with no issues.

Edit: It takes just under a quart to do both the transmission and engine. Another wonderful benefit of scooters.

No more power train warranty OCI on the Silverado. Time to move to a slightly thicker oil to help quiet down the engine some. It’s not loud, it could just be quieter!

Out: 8 quarts Valvoline EP 0W-20 and an ACDelco PF63
In: 8 quarts Valvoline R&P 5W-30 and an ACDelco PF63

Initial startup while checking for leaks the engine was a little bit quieter. If it doesn’t make much of a difference, I’ll probably go back to the 0W-20, we’ll see.

Castrol Edge EP and Mobil-1 EP Triple Action 5w30s may satisfy your thirst for increased quietness.
The Castrol EP Gold is close to reappearing in stores. Every retailer appears to be O.O.S. currently. New jug labels and new formulas caused them to wipe-out old inventories first.

Nice choice going to the 5W-30. I honestly can't bring myself to ever use a 20 weight or thinner oil.

The owners manuals are written by Manufacturers trying to avoid the CAFE tax. That is why all owners manuals in the US today
only list 1 grade of oil for all temperature conditions as that is a rule for CAFE, where whatever thin oil the auto manufacturer uses during the MPG test is the only one that can be recommended in the owners manual.
