It's been a while since I have posted. Just did my 3rd OCI of Maxlife blend in the Blazer and the oil cooler lines have stopped leaking completely. I currently have Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend 5w20 in the 03 Odyssey with 78k miles but was thinking of switching to Motorcraft blend for the next Honda 7500 mile OCI recommendations. With winter nearing and having to park both cars outside all day long in Chicago, I figure a blend is my best bet for the vehicles. I will stick with 3k mile ocis of Maxlife for my 05 Blazer. Motorcraft seems to be a great value for $11.50 for the Oddysey. I liked the Maxlife at $13.50 but now is't $15.00+. Plus I know its a great oil but just dont know if it has that add pack & tbn to last 7500 miles even in a Honda 3.5L. The filters used are Honda genuine. What are your thoughts for the best value of the cheaper oils for a Honda 7500 OCI year round?

Just my $.02:
Honda 4-cylinders are VERY easy on oil. They will do 7500-miles OCI's on dino or a blend, no problem.
Honda 6-cylinder engines aren't nearly as easy on oil as the 4-cylinder versions. We've seen a few used oil analysis here where they chew up dino's or blends in 4-5k miles.
With this in mind, especially during the winter, I'd keep the Honda V-6 OCI as close to 5k miles as you can. As I said, just my 2 cents from what I've seen here - many will most likely disagree with me......

Question regarding your Blazer and the oil leak, as I have a S10 with the 4.3 and have had similar leaks. Did you mean remote oil filter lines as opposed to oil cooler lines? My S10 has a remote filter up front, and those lines are notorious for leaking. I'd thought of trying MaxLife Blend, but have been told the the seal swelling additives can actually make that specific leak on the 4.3's even worse, so I havn't tried it thus far. The leak appeared last fall a few weeks after I switched from conventional to M1. I tried MaxLife full synthetic at the next change, and the leak did seem to slow after a few months and was virtually gone by the end of that OCI. My latest change was back to conventional oil, and the leak is virtually gone. I wasn't sure if that was due to the Full Synthetic Maxlife that was in it for a change doing some good to correct the problem, or due to my switching back to conventional. Now that I'm not leaking, I was going to take the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" approach and just stick to conventional for the rest of the vehicle's life. However, I've got a bunch of MaxLife blend sitting around, and wasn't sure it it'd be ok for me to run if. Your results, if in fact you mean the remote filter lines, are encouraging, as I'd like to be able to use a High Mileage oil in my truck.

When reffering to the Blazer, I meant to say remote cooler lines. The MAxlife stopped the leaked that was originally started after a fill of Platinum & continued with Mobil 1 Truck and SUV. It looks like I will be doin Motorcraft 5W20 5k mile OCIs on the Honda.
