About twice as much went in than I drained out.
Under filling at the factory must be a GM thing to save money on fluids.

2014 Rav4 100k "tune up"

In : Supertech Synthetic 75w90 into both

Takes just a tad over 1 qt for both together. Such small capacities

Did the Ridgelines VTM4 rear end and differential this last weekend at 34K.

the Ridges AWD system creates a fair amount of detritus I see on the mags and has a severe service schedule of 7500-15-15 miles if driving in mountainous areas (approx its maintenance minder based) - which is exactly what I do - plus towing right up to its 5K limit.

2019 Tacoma front and rear diff
Drained Orielly master pro
75w90 40k miles on fluid
Looked extremely clean on rear clean as new on front

Refilled with exact same brand and weight will go 50k on next interval for rear prob not change front again for 100k as clean as it was

Contemplating using same gear oil for T case but for now will leave the magic toyota 75wt lv in there

Valvoline 75w140 rear and ST syn 75w90 front. Break in wear dump on the Ram at 25k. Vacuum method.

Chrysler 9.25. Unknown total mileage.

Out: Mobil 1 75w-90 with ~45K miles
In: Schaeffers 293 75w-90

Likely went too long, M1 had darkened significantly compared to 1/3 full bottle remaining on shelf.

Squeegeed out thick goop on bottom, weak magnet surrounded by ferrous sludge
replaced weak magnet with two neodymuim bars, 1.25 long .25 wide.

Wirewheeled and 'Oshpo'ed Diff cover and bolts.

Repainted with silver VHT I had on hand. Thought I had more flat black than I did and pressed for time, Rigged a cure oven to hold at 120f overnight.

No gasket, permatex gear oil rtv only, allowed 24 hours cure before filling with the Schaeffers.

Gonna flat black it soon, in place. as black has higher emissivity, radiates heat better, and I don't like it silver.

Quiet before, Quiet after.
