Post a photo of your oil on dipstick (with miles)

2016 Avalon. 147,000 miles, 5,000 miles on the Pennzoil Ultra 5W30. No oil usage, stock OE filter. Will let this run to 10,000 miles. Color doesn’t darken nearly as quickly as it did when I used Amsoil Signature Series 5W30 a few months ago. Less oil usage too. But the Amsoil did great in analysis on a 12,000 mile run.

Oil looks really clean at 5K. Glad to see the engine likes it!!!

That was after a 500 mile one day trip in 95 degree temps doing 75-80 mph with the AC blasting the entire way (and some traffic). Checked the next day assuming it might be a little low because of all the high speed highway continuous driving, but no, still full and clean.

Maybe I should have expected nothing less, but I’ve heard/read a lot of continuous long highway driving will leave manifold vacuum high for long stretches, potentially causing a little consumption due the PCV system. I’ve never actually experienced it though.

Double header dipstick check.

About 1800 miles on Castrol Edge Euro 5w40 and Total Quartz 5w40, I think I was a low when I did the original spill/fill. Topped off with ST 0w20 to complete a trifecta challenge.

This has about 60 miles of close by sea trials with 15w40 Motorcraft after a Liqi Moly engine flush with T4. Going for a 120 mile round trip this weekend.

10,034 miles on the daily driver, no significant oil consumption running HPL PC 5W-30. Unfortunately I'm swamped with personal events throughout this weekend to have time to drain and sample the oil though confident it can take the extra few hundred miles. Average highway speed is 80 MPH.

Are you planning to do 10,000 mile drains with the HPL, or extending them out further? You're driving sounds similar to mine...80 miles a day, usually doing 75-80 mph. 10,000 mile intervals, although I'm considering cutting them down into the 7,500 mile range. I've done a 12,000 mile interval using Amsoil - oil analysis came back outstanding. Imagine HPL would do just as well.

100 miles per day during the week days actually. Originally planned 10k mile extended service trials with HPL oils. in addition to its crank case cleaning capabilities. The oil is in great shape visually from blot paper testing. I'll likely drain it next weekend. This is the first time in the car history going 10k+ on an oil service. Pleased to see there is no significant signs of oil consumption despite the extreme distance traveled.

129,851 miles (F-150 4.6L). I suspect that since this is the first time I have run Ultra Platinum in the truck, it likely will be darker than the next time I use it when this OCI is completed.

I've used PUP in the Mustang (59K) for a while and it never gets darker than honey. I am conservative with my OCIs and generally change the oil & filter every 3-5K miles.
