Post a great line from a song, the song's name, and the recording artist

I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then.
Against the Wind
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band

The line is about a guy who was told his wife was messing with someone else, got rid of her but really didn't want to. Thought maybe he'd been better off not knowing.

One could easily fill 10 pages with great lines from Zappa songs.
You ever took a look at the Discogrophy of that guy! I do not believe I have ever seen any person or band with a greater number of releases. He had to be filthy rich + own his own studio to be able to accomplish those numbers.

I think I'm gonna go now
But you know that I'll be back
Now you can think it over Baby
Tell me how you're gonna act

Frank Zappa from The Mother Of Invention, the song, Brown Shoes Don't Make It:

"Be a loyal plastic robot
For a world that doesn't care"

One child grows up to be
Somebody that just loves to learn
And another child grows up to be
Somebody you'd just love to burn

”Family Affair” - Sly and the Family Stone

Yeah, I am a loser
at the top of my game

I got a soul that ain’t never been blessed

”Scare Easy” - Mudcrutch

His discography of album releases doesn't even come close to the amount of material that he wrote. His family has an entire warehouse full of music material and unreleased recordings. He wrote music every waking hour of the day and night, everywhere he went. Many people say (and it is highly likely) that he was the most prolific song/music writer in history, and he wrote music in almost every musical genre. As far as how rich he was, money didn't matter to him, all he cared about was his music. He was a genius.

Oh, oh I said, "I'm so happy I could die"
She said, "Drop dead, " then left with another guy

Sorry, it has to be the whole verse for full effect:

Well now the man down at the used car lot
Tried to sell me four wheels and a trunk.
I said, "But man, there ain't no engine!"
He said, "The engine's just a bunch of junk.
You don't need no engine to go downhill
And I can plainly see
That's the direction you're headed in"
And he handed me the keys.

Townes Van Zandt, "No Deal"

Here's an extra verse I just discovered for "Friend of the Devil" by the Grateful Dead:

You can borrow from the devil,
You can borrow from a friend.
Devil give ya twenty dollar bill
But your friend he only got ten.

‘She was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes
and points of her own, sittin way up high,
way up firm and high.
out past the corn fields where the woods got heavy,
out in the back seat of my 60 Chevy,
workin’ on mysteries without any clues,
workin’ on our night moves.

Well, you've always got your tail on the wag
Shootin' fire from your mouth just like a dragon
You act like a perpetual drag
You better check it out
'Cause someday soon you'll have to climb back on the wagon

Preacher man talking on TV, puttin' down the rock and roll
Wants me to send a donation, 'cause he's worried about my soul
He said, "Jesus walked on the water.", and I know that it's true
But sometimes I think that preacher man, would like to do a little walkin' too

Well, I've got to run to keep from hidin',
And I'm bound to keep on ridin'.
And I've got one more silver dollar,
But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no,
Not gonna let 'em catch the Midnight Rider.
