It happens sometimes. Go hide under your bed till it warms up to your liking...It’s still not a typical winter when parts of Florida are getting below 32F![]()
All I can do is cover the crowns. They survive.Oh well, it’s not the low temps but the breadth of the cold weather. I am worried about Brownsville’s palms and @Pablo ‘s figs.
My grape plants are covered with straw, held in place with chicken wire and 6 inches of snow. It’s going to be 0 F this weekend. Fingers crossed. All I can do is cover the crowns. They survive.
The lowest they are predicting here is 26°F. Historically it's been much, much colder. We had 1°F 2-3 years back.
I don’t need to hide, because I am used to snow and cold weather. My point is that not every city can deal with it. I can see you are another clueless oneIt happens sometimes. Go hide under your bed till it warms up to your liking...![]()
Whilst I was heading to the beach yesterday - wound up behind state trucks spraying the causeway (CaCl2 ?) - later saw more bridges they hit …It’s hard for people to just “deal with it” when their city isn’t prepared for it. Northern cities have salt trucks and snow removal on the ready for the winter. But cities that don’t usually get this kind of weather can be brought to a standstill. Nobody even has the right tires for the conditions. So to say “deal with it” is actually a pretty stupid thing to say

Very few cities can deal with every type of adversity that is thrown in their way..I don’t need to hide, because I am used to snow and cold weather. My point is that not every city can deal with it. I can see you are another clueless one![]()
I am definitely used to it. I just think it’s a stupid thing to tell people to just “deal with it” when it’s out of their control. If their city doesn’t plow the streets or put salt down, please tell me how those residents are just going to deal with it? They need to get to work, but yet their roads will be dangerous and you can’t expect them to just drop $1000 on snow tires at a moment’s notice either.Very few cities can deal with every type of adversity that is thrown in their way..
I think you should hide. You sure don't act like you are used to it....![]()
The meteorologists in Colorado have gone from a trace of snow to no snow yesterday to 4-10" by tomorrow evening in three days.If you liked the “ Arctic Pipeline” last week, you’re going to love the “ Polar Vortex “ later this week and next. Freezing temps are forecast to reach Houston. We’re going to get it west of the Canadian Rockies as well this time. Seattle will probably freeze. It’s supposed to be 19 F in Washington DC the morning of the inauguration.![]()
As you say it, "being out of one's control", you prepare and deal with it. You are not going to change it. You sound like someone who has been coddled all your life.I am definitely used to it.
