I have a family member just relocated to the Burbank area, lives in North Hollywood. For the BITOG members here, please could you recommend a good dealer service dept for maintenance? Car is a 2025 Rav4 XLE gas. I called Noth Hollywood toyota, they wont do oil change at 5000 miles on toyoyta care even when i told them i follow severe service schedule. I called toyota corp, they said it's legit to do 5000 mile oil change if car use falls in servere service. Thanks.

You're fighting an uphill battle. Just change it yourself at 5000 miles or have a shop do it and let the dealer do the 10k and 20k changes. It's worked for me with multiple new Toyotas and (at least for me) it's just not worth the aggravation to fight it.

Thanks for your reply. I won't be able to do it myself as I live in upstate NY. I don’t mind to pay for first oil change, but just wanted to find a dealership with good service depth for all the needed maintenance.
Why does it need to be a Toyota dealership for a simple oil change? I’m sure the LA area has plenty of good Indy shops.

Average Toyota dealer express lane is probably cheaper than any indy or quick lube for an oil change.
Toyota only covers the normal maintenance schedule (oil change every 10K) under Toyotacare. That is why you're being denied. You're welcome to pay for your own at 5K.
Not sure if you can have Toyota Service Care run concurrently with an active 2/25 Toyotacare, but $349 for 5 oil change/tire rotations (within a 2 year period) is a great price:

If they are in Burbank, there is Toyota of Glendale- I used them a few times for service on a Tacoma I had, and everything went smoothly.
Nope. Maintenance does not have to be done by a dealer.

Thanks. I am looking at the Glendale dealer, and called the services as well. Got a good 1st impression ( I know, far fetched... maybe wishful thinking) but at least the service writer did not dismiss me over the phone. They are running a special for May... so I might just ask daughter go there.
Groove Toyota in Littleton Colorado changed the oil on my Tundra at 2,500 as part of Toyota Care.
Flex Fuel vehicles are half the service interval. Mine was at nearly a year old, saw lots of short trips, which met severe service definition, and they did the severe service interval oil change.
During the 2/25k period, how many oil changes did you claim in total?
90% of the vehicles in So. Cal fall under severe service and if it's synthetic oil you use....it's a "money flush". JMHO-as someone who has spent 1 million miles on the So. Cal freeways. Never had a car blow up-or break down.
