they have been silicone for many year now...I use the 7317 oil filter..

Yeah, I think it's safe to say the acquisition wasn't a great step for Fram with regards to quality. Tragic, as I loved the Fram Ultra and was a big orange can user when money was tight in my younger years.

Wait-let me see if I can do this… “It’s FINE”… “there’s NO DIFFERENCE in flow, dirt capacity, nor efficiency”… “it’s JUST AS GOOD as before”… “that nitrile ADBV will last just as long as the silicone one”… How did I do? Am I ready for the First Brands internet payroll??

Vertical or horizontal. If it's vertical it wont matter as much. If it was a horizontal positioned filter yeah it would matter more.
