Well there web site still shows silicone....I have three of them same filter 7317 and all have orange silicone ...
 
I just sent a e mail and posted on there facebook page about it... Will post when I get a reply....

So made 12/22/2021, 3rd shift

the filter is only 3 weeks old

Fram was recently bought out... again, so no surprised they cheapened it again

I will wait for there reply before I comment on them...
 
Yeah, I think it's safe to say the acquisition wasn't a great step for Fram with regards to quality. Tragic, as I loved the Fram Ultra and was a big orange can user when money was tight in my younger years.
 
Right! I should have clued in after the numerous LOOONG threads about our coveted Ultra ;)
Wait-let me see if I can do this… “It’s FINE”… “there’s NO DIFFERENCE in flow, dirt capacity, nor efficiency”… “it’s JUST AS GOOD as before”… “that nitrile ADBV will last just as long as the silicone one”… How did I do? Am I ready for the First Brands internet payroll??:ROFLMAO:
 
Vertical or horizontal. If it's vertical it wont matter as much. If it was a horizontal positioned filter yeah it would matter more.
