My Brother a die hard Pennzoil user that would never use anything else stopped using Pennzoil today after many years in his company fleet of 19 trucks and his personal cars also because the price is just to high instead he is going to buy bulk from Conoco Philips and mobil like we do in our shops...Conoco and mobil is a great oil at a good price...Today he was at wal mart and decided to buy castrol gtx because it was $3.50 cheaper than Pennzoil because of the price rollback... I mentioned Quaker State but he does not like that oil... He is very smart when it comes to oil he does his research and worked for an oil company 12 years ago.. I told him just go another 1000 miles on his oci (he changes it too often at 4000 or so i said go to 5000 but he made up his mind

I saw that too, I about [censored] bricks... I thought someone put the wrong price up... mobile 5000 at 13 bucks is a much better choice now that PYB's price has been jacked..

i like Mobil it has been a quality oil for many years
Pennzoil yellow bottle is going to end up like the ultra did it will sit on the shelves and collect dust...Sorry i used to buy pennzoil but i do not anymore at that price..And Quaker state just has too many names that change too often..

I also bought Pennzoil platinum when it was about 18 bucks for 5qts... now its up to 23bucks, I can get a gallon of M1 HM at my Walmart for 50cents more..

Wow, that's really getting pricey. I don't go into Walmart too often. How much is the cheapest synthetic on their shelves (other than their house brand)?

Anyone who can stretch a synthetic 50% further is probably better off at that price point.

As much as I love PYB, and I really do, it is hard to pay $15.xx for it when QSUD is $19.xx.

Especially when one typically runs a 5-7k OCI.

That's a serious price difference at retail!

It was $14 just a few weeks ago, that is a big jump! There are just too many good oils to choose from that are cheaper. I am really interested in getting a couple of jugs of Valvoline Green bottle $8/5qt's after in store rebate.

AAP has the best thing going right now. Good prices w/ a filter. I hardly ever go to WM to get oil anymore. They are getting up there in price.

It's worth the extra 4 bucks just to see the Honda/Acura and Corvette approvals on the bottle.

Try Formula Shell if you can find it - SOPUS product at a lower price with good additives.

Is it really, though? I just don't think so. In the grand scheme of protecting your engine those labels don't really mean anything. The QSUD is the better value and the better oil. IMHO, of course.

Get used to it guys....PYB is the first of many to make the jump.

If I remember right Castrol should be next.

To be honest, most of these dinos will be close to 20 bucks soon anyways...

Surely you are not serious??
