I went over to Autozone today to browse around on the way home. They now have Pennzoil Platinum 5W50 there. Anyone ever use this oil before? How does it compare to a synthetic and/or dino 20W50.

thinner 50wt. my impression is that it would be shear prone but who knows? maybe one day we'll start seeing the elusive 5w-40 as well

I got $80 in Autozone giftcards for my bday. I was VERY tempted to buy some. It`s $6.99 a quart. They do have a special which I would`ve taken advantage of if it came with a different filter. It`s $26 for 5 quarts plus a Fram. I`d bought it if it would`ve been a Wix instead.

There is all kinds of 5w40 and 0w40 up here in Canada. Is it not available in the US? I mean in different brands other than PP

I was thinking about trying PP next in my Shelby GT500. Factory calls for a 5w50. or maybe just go with a known good 15w50. The Car isn't driven in cold weather but being supercharged I am worried about good flow at startup with the 15w50 stuff.
