One year since gasoline lawnmower sales banned in California

And so now the emissions are way better after they banned small engines used to clear poorly managed brush and forests so they could burn down half the county which may had added a little to the air quality they will say.
Could have used those gas powered saws to thin the brush as to not have such out of control fires.

I personally think the answer is in better mufflers with spark arrestors and noise deadening insulation.

I think for all of these service folks that use this equipment daily that would have been a much less costly approach to addressing this air quality issue.

But, California wants to have everybody with battery pack stuffed up their arse!

All imported from china on a big boat nothing made here at all like all the green new deal bs. Every thing they ban is made here and replaced by china made ****.

My next door neighbor's electric push mower is louder than my B&S 6.5hp GAS push mower. I guess the blades still make a lot of noise.
My 40v trim mower is not louder than a gasser - but the high blade RPM’s will tell you it’s coming … Really makes time on the LT short and sweet.

Based on what I see, gas riding mowers are still around but for personal use most have either switched to battery or corded electric mowers. So far I haven't heard people complaining about it, and the neighborhood is less smelly and quieter. I am still happy with my corded electric mower I got in 2006, better than a gas one that I would have gotten. Most people in urban area have small enough yard that a 100' cord is fine. If you really really want it you can probably drive to Nevada and bring home a gas mower so it is not that big of a deal.

Drought and water cost is the bigger problem though. I am paying like $6 per CCF and my water bill is often $50 in the winter and $100 in the summer just for water alone. They are that expensive because most of the cost is to fund the earthquake update of the water system that's 100 years old and wouldn't survive another 1 in 100 year earth quake.
Wow, your water is cheap! My bills are twice that for just 2 people.

I'm a California Native and I live in southern california. My noise level in my suburban area has dropped considerably in the last few months. I do believe that the city is cracking down on these highly noisy devices that are being used. And most folks in my neighborhood that have lawn services higher the cheapest low rate services they can which appear to not maintain their equipment, these things are blowing spews of smoke and no Mufflers blaring loud! So something is definitely changed for the better at least for my nerves! :-)

And yes we have it good here on our water bill and Electric. Most other areas in California are double the price and out of state could even be higher. Not to mention reassessments on property taxes, and weather concerns which also add a big deficit to your fixed income. Not leaving good old California, I'm a native and will die here. :-)
