So what's the story in California. Are gasoline powered lawn mowers still available? How about lawnmowers being sold underneath the overpasses from white vans? Any feedback from the California folks? Thanks.

Why don't you actually understand the law, what it does and does not do, before posting an absurd statement.

Why don't you actually enlighten those of us outside of California who are unfamiliar with the situation instead of being pretentious and condescending. I get that pretentiousness is like a birthright to many Californians, but at least try to put it aside and actually be helpful.

It's really funny you said that. I saw thursday a dozen Murray lawnmowers and a few weed Wackers across the street from the Chp San Bernardino office. They had a big sign $250. I was getting a Harley vin inspection. The officer said a few of the guys bought generators from him.

I did some reading because of your comment......You made it seem like the OP was off target, but from what I read, California really did ban the sale of new gasoline powered lawn equipment and SORE (Small Off Road Engines) Jan 1st 2024. SMORE are spark ignited engines under 25hp.

One of the articles I read - https://lawnlove.com/blog/california-green-lawn-care-law/

Might be a good opportunity for small engine mechanics in California..... although the cost of living in more urban areas where there is better biz might pose an unsurmountable problem for those in that trade. Maybe one could be a "mobile" small engine mechanic.... pulling a trailer full of carb kits and gaskets, lol.

Is some government agency tracking the improvement this made? 0.00001% reduction in overall California emissions?? Virtue signaling at it's best.
If there were any emissions reduction it would only be local to the use site, Cali gets to export those emissions to neighboring states were they buy 30% of their electricity used to charge the conflict mineral batteries these things use.

I wonder if business has picked up for the OPE dealers just across state lines from CA, especially for commercial mowing equipment.
Probably looks like the fireworks stands at the state line between one state that allows fireworks and one that doesn't...or the liquor store 10ft into the other county from a dry county.
