OMAD / One Meal a Day Days

I did OMAD from Sept 2017 for over 4 years.
IMHO, one big feast per day is stressful to the body.
I now prefer 3 smaller meals per day.
It was fun while it lasted and I have hundreds of pics of the meals I made.
I'm still trying to shake the feast mentality.

No need to eat small meals you can eat big and cut weight or maintain I understand why you have to eat so small by the pics it’s not rocket science.

I'm not trying to cut weight. I'm under weight.
I now eat 3MAD and I still weigh less than I did 3 months ago. I'm adding some buttery sweet potatoes, rice, and beans for meal #3.

I eat a low fat diet, that's it right there, IMHO. With a low fat diet and a lot of safe starches like sweet potato, beans, and rice, you can pretty much eat freely all day. If you start adding a bunch of oils and processed foods like chips or soda pop, forget about it.
 
I feel better with only OMAD, I'm just trying to get back on the train, and I lose weight too. It takes me about 3 days to get back into the groove, but I failed today because I had dinner. I'll start again tomorrow, I like the challenge.
 
I couldn’t imagine eating only one meal a day. Heck I’m lucky if I only eat three lol. I’m a hungry boy gotta have my food. If I do skip a meal generally it’s breakfast because if I eat right when I get up my stomach kills me for the rest of the day so I have to wait an hour or two to eat after I get up so I’ll usually skip breakfast and eat extra snacks and meals throughout the day.

That's the idea. Temporary stressors, such as OMAD, cold baths and HIIT (High Intensity Intermittent Training) kick the body's dorment longevity genes into gear (amongst other things) .

It is VERY healthy. The name is hormesis.

According to Karen Hurd RDH, those things are stressful to the adrenals, and that's not supposed to be good.
The only way I bathe myself is with a cold shower. Fall is coming and the tap water will be much colder.
With the soluble fiber in beans, the more times per day you eat them, the more you will benefit from them.
That's what got me off the OMAD mentality. With food, you're either building your health or destroying it.
 
What does a 10 minute cold shower do if the rest of the day you are in room temperature air?
I like them. It's a good way to wake up in the morning.
They're harder to do in the winter but you get used to them and they're refreshing.
I make it as quick as I can in cold weather when the water's colder.
The cold water can make my head ache if I keep my head in it very long.
But no fogged up mirrors and no bathroom fan needed.

Cold showers

wake you up thoroughly
increase circulation because blood flow must increase
stimulate and boost your immune system by increasing white blood cell production - people who routinely take cold showers have been shown to fall significantly less often ill with infectious diseases and infections
reduce muscle aches and soreness

Not only do I take cold showers in addition to luke-warm ones, I also spend hours and hours in the ocean every week, wearing either a tri-suit or a wetsuit. I'm in 52°F-60°F water, depending on the time of year. Can't even remember getting a cold, the flu, or anything.
