Ok I have a complaint.

I realize that the site needs sponsors/ adds. But everytime I accidentally get my curser near the adds on top they drop down unanounced. It's really annoying.

I think that the adds should have a place to click on them if somebody wants to see them and not automatically drop down if you move your curser over them.

I still haven't seen these ads, but I have my router set up to block certain problem websites. I bet the annoying ads are hosted on one of them. If I remember, I'll take a look at them at the office on Monday.

In general, I would rather not block ads so that I don't deprive sites of revenue, but when ads crash my browser, their hosting service gets put on my blacklist.

I have Noscript in FF and I agree. I usually dont block ads unless they are obtrusive. This one was so its gone. Just a slight overshoot of going for the links in the top bar would make it drop down.

..but.. what's Noscript (I understand what it does - at least apparently) and where do I turn it off so I can be annoyed?

I agree with the OP; they are annoying.

Mouse over ads should be banned from this forum; only click ads should be allowed. Mouse over ads are not only annoying, but it could be perceived that the forum admins are pushing the product being advertised over those that don't have mouse over ads.

Yes, they are paying for the advertising, but advertising on this forum should be equal to all advertisers otherwise the forum will loose it's position of not being driven by on product, brand or manufacturer - let the members decide which product is the product of the day. Now it's PU with mouse over ads, next M1, then Schaeffer's ... in the end all ads will be mouse over ads and the ads annoy new and current users to the point that they will leave or not contribute to the discussions.

I plan to include this topic in my next web design class that I teach.

One of those windowshade ads got "stuck", and the close(X) didn't work. Had to reload the whole shebang.

It cause my foot fungus to act up. Been gone for over 20 years ..one swipe ...that's all it took.

I've also heard that Big Foot sightings are on the increase. Coincidence??
