my car and filters are only made in usa!!!!!!!

once america gets bored with toyota and honda maybe your car will be too.

I used to use only Honda OEM oil filters because I figured that they would be superior in build quality. When the supplier switched from Filtech to Honeywell (AKA Fram) the quality took a dive in my opinion. Outwardly the Filtech and Honeywell filters looked the same, inwardly the Honeywell filter resembled a Fram product made from low quality components. I then started using the Amsoil EAO13 filter and have not been disappointed. I believe the EAO filters are made by Wix now. Perhaps you should consider returning those China made Nissan filters and use Wix or Amsoil filters instead?

I agree with the comments about controlling Chinese imports with your dollars. How else can the US compete with workers who make ~40 cents per hour, use child labor, have little regard for worker safety, product safety or quality of life? It is getting to the point that you have to search high and low to find anything that is not made in China. IMHO it was a big mistake to give China most favored trade status. We are rapidly becoming a 3rd world country and our elected government officials do not seem too concerned. These are scary times my friends.

...or environmental safety...

Do you think that China has anything similar to our EPA, watching over any manufacturer, and their emission levels?

Made in China ---- Made in Japan --- what's the differance ??? It's all imported junk.

Best to check the filter to be sure, IMO. Wix has plants in China and Venezuela.

LOL is that a joke Japan makes some of the best electronics/cars, most things from Japan is usually of a high quality.

Yeah, that's kind of the ignorant mindset that has allowed the Big 3 automakers to be bypassed in the automotive market. Complacency is a bad place to be. I guarantee many of the people posting on this site like their wonderful Made in China iPods!! It's all dependent on quality control, I've bought some real junk Made in USA. I work for a company that makes electronic devices in China, some suppliers have excellent quality, others need a lot of babysitting.

As a side note about the Austrian Mahle filters, I'm working with an Austrian supplier (not automotive) right now in my job and I'm really impressed with the quality, mindset, and work ethic of the Austrians.

You're buying junk and you are calling others ignorant?

Buying junk no matter where it's made isn't too smart.

What a fanciful mind you have.

Here's a way to solve your problem, buy filters from Champion Labs, they build their filters in Illinois, they meet and more times than not exceed oem specs, they satisfy new car warranties, and you can buy them straight from Champion. heres their filter order number 1800-851-3641

The last several Wix items I purchased, a fuel filter and a cabin air filter, both were Made in China. I wonder how long it will be until Wix shuts down it's US plants????

What did you want me to say there, give the company, address, my office phone, etc.?

On your other point, that was a good catch. Looks kind of dumb once I re-read it. My point just was that because something is made in the US it doesn't automatically make it great and just because something is imported doesn't make it junk. All being said, I still try to buy stuff made here unless I can only get a sub-par US made item compared to something imported.

Better have them checked for lead in the paint. Never know when a neighbor's kid might crawl under the car and start gnawing.
