The NAPA Gold and their standard filter, Proformer, are both PGI as well. This forum has definately enlightened people on the oil filter market.Glad I clicked this. I had no idea the basic MicroGard filters were MH. The Carquest standard duty certainly appear to be PGI.
They are decent PGI nitrile adbv tier filters....... The Carquest standard duty certainly appear to be PGI.
You can still get good priced filters on Rockauto. I settled on the PG2500ex "various mfs"...Have you noticed since Fram went bust that price of oil filters has nearly doubled? Competition is the consumer's friend.
Ohm okay. I didn't realize it changed by region. In SC anyway, the ones I have seen were M&H. Only the EX versions were PGI.In my region of the US, all the Microgard Reds were PGI filters - MGL51348/51394/57055 are the ones I’ve looked at.
Got examples to give? Like apples to apples comparison across like competing model lines?Have you noticed since Fram went bust that price of oil filters has nearly doubled? Competition is the consumer's friend.

Yeah, it has double from it's 2017 price and is currently trending $1.66 higher than the $10 price it has been averaging the last 4 years. Even the brief recent blip at $16 is not double. What is the FRAM equivalent and what was it selling for?

The "blip" was at least a couple of weeks, as I watched it. Fram equivalent would have been the 10K versions of 7317, other PCI numbers CQP and MGS 84356, which have remained flat. What is the FRAM equivalent and what was it selling for?
Back to my original point of contention, nothing truly doubled and whatever that couple of week pricing increase cannot be defined with any certainty that is was demand/supply related to FRAM being bankrupt or Amazon dynamic pricing strategy. The "blip" was at least a couple of weeks, as I watched it. Yes PENTIUS PLX6607 I bought at $5 and change NowGot examples to give? Like apples to apples comparison across like competing model lines?
Only thing I have notices is just the lack of availability in Walmart of a low end basic filter line that would have competed against the FRAM PH Extra Guard line and left with having to pick a premium line filter in another brand that costs more but those prices did not really increase, just the lack of a cheaper alternative basic filter line to choose from.
I would not compare any increase Amazon pricing to anything other than their normal dynamic pricing nonsense. Amazon has not really been a overall value place to shop for filters in about 2-3 years other than a few instances of decent pricing when the algorithm is being nice.

You mention a PLX6607 and the link is for a PLXL8A. How are these comparative?Yes its for the current price of the same filter $20 and change I paid $5 and change for.
Double or more than I paid proving my point. You mention a PLX6607 and the link is for a PLXL8A. How are these comparative?
Edit" I see the PLX6607 showing up in the Amazon search bar when I click your link but it shows the PLXL8A listing. I think you probably meant PLXL6607 which is the current link below:
https://www.amazon.com/Pentius-PLXL6607-Spin-Filter-Extented/dp/B075F494DH
That has showed a stead $14 sold by Amazon price for over the last year when they had it in stock. Not exactly a reactive price increase to any FRAM bankruptcy.

Maybe you are talking about the Pentius PLB6607?
That has been a $5 filter but nothing showing it when sold by Amazon and not third party going above that either.
