I have a 2001 Acura TL and 2002 RSX. Both cars I am the only owner. Till 50k on the TL i was running dino and then to syn blend. I have tried Mobil 1, Kendall, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Castrol synten, and syn blend. But the best oil I found for the TL was Royal Purple 5w30. The engine does feel smoother and quiter.

On the RSX at 75k I just switched to Synpower from dino. And didnt feel any differ. I have not used the Synpower in my TL yet. How does the synpower stack up to Royal Purple. I know not many people like Royal purple, and there isnt much info on Synpower either.

Look forward to a great forum.

Glad to see another Acura fan here!

As for Royal Purple, most users here aren't impressed with the results of used oil analysis' with RP. Synpower is a good oil though, I'd recommend it.

My only concern is that. The car wont be as smooth as it is with the RP. Like I said last oil before the RP was Mobil 1 Extended Performance and change that at 5k.

Use the RP with confidence but get used oil analysis to verify. There are some very nice used oil analysis on here for RP that people seem to want to ignore.

I was thinking about redline, but RP is just alot easier to pick up from Walmart on the way home. Also at Walmart RP is only $6.72. And one advance auto sells RL for 8.99. Also I was thinking about Maxlife Syn, but honestly I cant find it around here, but its in the same price range as RP isnt it. I use Regular Maxlife in my parents Suburban.

Got a Pep Boys or CSK nearby? Synpower has a rebate so it only costs $1.50/qt or Maxlife & Maxlife Syn is $1/qt after rebate. WAAAAY better deal than some $7-9/qt boutique oil. Stock up - it will protect both engines just fine.
