No question in my Tucson, QSAM 5/30 is noticeably smoother than anything else yet.

Yeah 4wd even the "entry" level oils made by Mobil, Chevron, Shell etc are really good, good products. They hold up quite well in regular stock motor setups.

With Dexos being a good improvement spec wise over API standards it makes oils meeting that spec quite strong.

Of course the Porsche A40 or C30, MB 229.5 or BMW specs are definitely exceptional in what they are capable of.

if you want to make it really quiet, put a cap full of SAE30wt in it. Thats the secret of QS quietness. It has squishy molecules instead of rigid ones.

As many of you know, I've tried it all in the short time I've owned this vehicle and by far, the best oil for THIS Tucson, in terms of smoothness and quiet idle is Quaker State All Mileage 5w30. I used it once before but didn't want to get ahead of myself in the opinion.

Just wanted to share. It's been that good.

When I had my Sportage 2.4L (2011 vintage for those curious) QS was the easy winner in smoothness/quietness for the engine. Not surprised that it would continue to agree nicely with Kia/Hyundai engines.

When I had my Sorento (3.5L V6), it definitely seemed to prefer QS/Pennzoil/Kendall GT-1 over Valvoline/Mobil/Other, but ran fine on any of them. Just quieter/much noticeably smoother operation on the preferred oils.

I just completed the oil change... there's no way to tell.

Anyway... I seriously doubt it, or it's so imperceptible that there's no practicable way of measuring and comparing such considering variable conditions.

My high-mileage 4-cyl GM engine will be receiving 0W-40 from now on... it's beyond smooth. It's sublime instead of a rattle-trap.

As SteveG4 notes there is no possible way any observed fuel economy difference due to oil could possibly be ascribed to that one variable. There are far too many other variables that are much more significant which affect everyday driving.

I wonder what it is about the castrol 0w40 that makes @SteveG4 vehicle quieter. Doesn’t that castrol have zero moly and next to nothing boron? Is it the titanium? Is it the increase in viscosity? Maybe combination.

I've reliably found that my vehicles don't idle as smooth when my wife is driving. Oil variants seem to have little effect.

Both, at idle and under moderate acceleration. It's still somewhat thrashy on full throttle.

Try the 10w40 variant of QSAM a 40 makes a huge difference at redline, sounds a lot less like it's about to explode.
