No question in my Tucson, QSAM 5/30 is noticeably smoother than anything else yet.

As many of you know, I've tried it all in the short time I've owned this vehicle and by far, the best oil for THIS Tucson, in terms of smoothness and quiet idle is Quaker State All Mileage 5w30. I used it once before but didn't want to get ahead of myself in the opinion.

Just wanted to share. It's been that good.

I’ve noticed (feelz) that every Hyundai I’ve had seems to “prefer” a 30 grade. They just seem to run smoother and quieter.
But I've used other 5w30 and this is even smoother than those in MY TUCSON.

Each of you will upset those who believe that the thinner it is the better it is In one of my former cars I found 5W-30 made it smoother than the 0W-20 did. I just won't use a 20 weight in a car I want to use for a long, long time.

18 years with 0/5w-20 in the '93 F150 (250k miles) and still going strong. No measurable oil consumption between OCI's.

Always fun when you find something that for whatever reason the engine is quieter on. Curious, have you tried Magnatec 5w30 in it yet?
Mr. KC, I have Valvoline Advanced 5W-30 in one of my cars now. In the very near future I'll change it with Mobil 1 5W-30 ESP. It's a C3 and I like the HTHS it has.

I would say my new ford 2L would not want anything more viscous than the 20 grade that is in there.
But its a new engine. I report back if I ever get 20K miles on it.

I hope you and Tyman understand that I was being sarcastic, as the Flat Earthers always come out and toss water on
any "oil perception" threads. tyman put a sad face response to my post; Maybe he didn't see my "jk".
Since I'm old, to clarify jk = just kidding or joking, correct?
I really didn't take your post seriously. I appreciate your explanation though.

It is ludicrous that people think they can "feel" differences between different brands of the same grade of oil !

Have you developed, through some bizarre mutation, an advanced sense - some sort of "Feel-0-Meter"?

BITOG Darwinism?

I hear your ARCO. I used to think the exact same thing. But it's true for me here. That is why ive made certain to specify "My vehicle" in this thread. It may be different for everyone else.

It should not make a difference but now and then I have noticed that a engine will sound quieter and run smoother on a particular oil. I don’t have a answer but if you find yourself in that situation, stick with that oil.

...and let's not get this thread confused for a thick v thin one. I agree since in other vehicles ive used 20 exclusively with zero issue (consumption or otherwise). I don't doubt that a 20 would get me as far as 30 here. I'm pointing out the smoothness and noise levels of this particular 30. Not other 30s and not wear.

So Hyundai did do some engine optimization for Quaker State Oil instead of pure sponsorship? Might give it a try later.

I actually put a wow face reaction, not a sad face. Lrn 2 rd, nub.
