Funny video from a Florida mechanic having to deal with below-freezing temperatures ... in Florida
It's currently -4 degrees Fahrenheit where I'm located. The lows tonight is forecast to be -22 degrees Fahrenheit.
Don't know, don't care. Only the first 2 minutes were the relevant part.
But people in Florida, S California, south TX, etc will still insist how horrible and unnecessary it is to warm cars up.

-30C here (-22F), started, gave it 30s and drove off. OMG! The horror!

Pro tip, leave a window cracked when you park to let the warm, humid air out, so it does not condense on the cold glass. I try to always park with the sunroof in the vent position, unless there is a forecast for significant snow. Never get frost on the inside of my glass.
I put the whole, "It's not necessary to warm up your car", into the same category as the 10,000 mile oil change. And double use oil filters. Sure, you can do it, but what are you saving?..... And "Sludge Remover" in a brand new truck? Seriously?
I start my truck and let it warm up while I stay in the house or shop. My reasoning? I'm 120lbs soaking wet and its friggin cold. I don't care to sit my skinny a$$ on those frozen vinyl seats.
Yep, if itās dry inside you wonāt get frost on the inside. Though I prefer to bake the moisture out, I like the cabin at a cozy 80-85F in the winter! Though I also refuse to wear more than a hoodie when I driveā¦

wow ! seems like an eternity for the oil temperature to come up. Iām curious what type of engine & oil you are using.
At a pretty low temperature recently, 0 F, my monitored oil temperature took about 6 minutes to get to 180 F , coolant was the usual 16-18 degrees F cooler @ that point in time (ā02 Jaguar XKR V-8 / 4.0 L).
What is the āusualā time for your oil to get up to your engines normal ?

The video is from Florida - that is very cold for them.
To us in more northern climates, I agree, It's 5Āŗ F this morning and doesn't bother me at all (there's no wind, which is key).
Not talking about frost on the inside of the window(s).
Same here. I don't drive with a heavy winter coat, gloves, hat, anything.
Only time that I have that problem is when you get a lot of snow on the floor of the vehicle and the outside conditions are just right.
