Undoubtedly 'cause of all the wax Pennzoil loads their oils up with that filled in the gap between the cylinder walls and what was left of the piston rings, huh? (Clever question of the day: How does a BITOGer feel when his favorite brand of motor oil is diss'd? Answer: "Piston". (OK, all you Bozos, I really was jerkin' everyone's chain - doubly so 'cause I intentionally chose not to put a cutesy cartoon "Graemlin" in at the end of my earlier post...Quote:
I started using Pennzoil back in '87 when I had a huge POS Ford Escort with the simply-awful 1.6 liter. I had been using Havoline because it was inexpensive ... and the POS was burning oil like crazy...in desperation, I tried Pennzoil and it stopped using oil...almost completely.

Pennzoil has shown in my Toyota the best UOA over Mobil one, Mobil drive clean, Castrol Syntec, Castrol Blend and Castrol GTX.
Better than Syns or Blends.
Pennzoil Conventional 5w-30 UOA 4900 miles
When I can get great UOAs like this on well under a buck Pennzoil (with no adds, no special $$ filters) who needs anything else? (my best UOA on my truck has been with 49 cent Chevron)
I love $5 incl filter oil changes every 5k!![]()
I do wish I had more Pennzoil in my stash...![]()
Pennzoil is one of the best oils.![]()
Period.![]()
I don't sell it, I don't have Pennzoil stock.
Just have done the testing!![]()
Dismissing facts on Pennzoil oil because of the parent company owning Slick 50 just cracks me up...![]()
Take care, Bill![]()

Bill, where are you getting PZ for $1??? I'd like to get in on that...maybe even persuaded to try it instead of the MC 5W-20 (perish the thought)!

I need to re-post it. I found the old thread, but the pic doesn't work anymore (the thread itself turned into 9 pages of import vs. domestic arguing). I'll email it to myself here at work so I can post it again.

Here it is; under the valve cover in my old Beretta in January of 2004, with around 310,000 miles on it at the time. Used Pennzoil exclusively since Day 1. No sludge.

Some, myself included, have said that we think less of the company because of it's Slick-50 piece of business and thus don't "feel the love", which was the original point of this thread. What is so crack up worthy ?

So does pennsoil cause sludge do to the wax in the oil or is that just a myth.

Of course if you are looking for reasons to not like Pennzoil

I'm certainly not looking for reasons to hate them, in fact I am probably going to switch the Honda over to Pennzoil 5w30 (conventional).
