Hi there

I recenty placed a post about removing the factory fill at 2 K miles and putting in either castrol edge 0/30 or mobil 1 0/40.

On the first change castrol 0/30 was used and 5K miles later mobil 1 0/40

The interesing thing is it now takes a lot longe to warm up on mobil 1, is this a good or a bad thing? and why?!!

This is most likely due to a change in ambient temperature. Have the mornings been colder lately?

If everything else is equal the only thing i could think of is less friction, less friction less heat, thats a good thing.
Most MB engines like 5w40 or 0w40 is it OEM speced for 5w40 in England?

I thought it was either 5w40 or 5w50.

The ambient temperature does not change in England?

Taking a LOT LONGER to heat up would indicate other things than the oil.
