Agreed. And it’s not the zinc either. That is true if you have a real oil burner. I would hope that a new truck isn't an oil burner.

Higher quality cats? That's not possible, the catalyst surface is composed of the same noble metals, if phosphorus gets there and reacts it's not dependent on quality at this point. But it has to get there and it has to be in sufficient quantity to be irreversible poisoning during a drive cycle.Bigger & better cats, or less ZDDP? Less ZDDP, less detergents & dispersants, and anything that can interfere with the polarity of the anti-wear additives in the tribo-film. This is how we got to the "interesting" formulations of today, not because Phosphorus is bad for cats, as much as car manufacturer didn't want to implement higher quality cats. Just ask Lake Speed Jr., he actually said that:
His truck is a gas 7.3LThis is straight from your owners manual. I wouldn’t bother with 30 grade oil.

the HM varients also normally have just a bit more additive package in them and will not hurt anything in a new engine. Valvoline does not advertise extended OCI intervals with their extended performance oils, just better protection.High mileage means the oil contains chemicals that condition old seals. That’s not required for a new vehicle.
Extended performance means a motor oil with additives to push the length of the oil change interval. Not sure why someone would push the oil change interval on a brand new vehicle. Just my two cents.
It swells the seals. Bad idea in a new engine. Not for me, thanks.the HM varients also normally have just a bit more additive package in them and will not hurt anything in a new engine. Valvoline does not advertise extended OCI intervals with their extended performance oils, just better protection.
But they all have seal swelling additives, and there’s a limit per the license. It’s not like it was a while back.
I believe you are getting your terms mixed up. There is Valvoline Extended Protection and Mobil Extended Performance. Mobil Extended Performance suggested 25,000 OCI's. The OP was talking about " Extended Performance". Valvoline Extended Protection does not talk about longer OCI's. It's all just a bunch of advertising blather anyway. Not be be belligerent. Everyone has a favorite oil.the HM varients also normally have just a bit more additive package in them and will not hurt anything in a new engine. Mobil’s verbiage is also to follow vehicles recommendations for OCI while under warranty. Still has nothing to do with your original claim that HM oil will have negative affects on a new motor.I believe you are getting your terms mixed up. Then what is Lake Speed Jr. on about?Higher quality cats? That's not possible, the catalyst surface is composed of the same noble metals, if phosphorus gets there and reacts it's not dependent on quality at this point. No clue. Then what is Lake Speed Jr. on about?
What he always does, 1) cross promote his partners 2) cross promote his 3 other channels and products. Then what is Lake Speed Jr. on about?
Did you watch the video, specifically the section where he talks about catalytic converters? No clue.
Like most, the man has bills to pay. What he always does, 1) cross promote his partners 2) cross promote his 3 other channels and products.
I'm not bored enough to sift through his statements. He does have good information but you have to sift through his definition of "truth."
Huh?Mobile 1 is junk. Stick with name brand.
I'm not sure there is any sort of conspiracy around but 5w30 is fine.
I'd prefer Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1.
You’ll be surprised how many of these new cars burning oil .IDK if it’s the 0w20 weight oil recommendation or what smhThat is true if you have a real oil burner. I would hope that a new truck isn't an oil burner.
