and you are politely trying to stay awake.

How did you guess that? Who was taking the pictures?

I also sat in one at the auto show in Detroit this year...I liked it...sort of reminded me of my 1983 Renault LeCar (remember those?). I feel another "mid-life" crisis coming on...really attracted to small cars with manual trans these days.

My Dad took pictures, I didn't even notice.
Yes, she was exited, because we told first that we are not taking it. But then we just got really good deal (I think). I didn't pay any fees at all and sticker price was dropped by almost 2 grands, MB payed off.
Found some online shop that has lots of stuff for 500s.
I guess will add something fun every year, like HID headlights, BOV, Piggy Back ECU, CAI and so on.
So far I enjoy it, Drove around city about 100 miles, AVG MPG is around 31 per onboard ECU,and there is no way I was trying to save fuel, quite opposite.

Enjoy! I bet you can get it up to Abarth power levels pretty easily if desired.

I'd love a Abarth as a "fun" car. From what I've read, it's a ball of fun at legal speeds, which is exactly what I want in any eventual "fun" car. No point in having a "fun" car if it's no fun at legal speeds.

Yeah, Abart sounds mean. I might say to mean for neighbours to hate you. Piggy back ECU and CAI should give you around 165HP like Abarth has at costing around 1k.(base Abarth cost is 2k more than base 500t) Which I think for this weight is great.
500 weight 2512 vs VW gti 4256@ 200hp

Vault to tin box albeit a nice one.

Congrats! I'll probably be buying an Abarth from the same dealer, provided I can unload my Mazda for a decent price. I'm currently driving 18,000-20,000 miles per year for my job, and the Abarth would make a fun and economical little buzz bomb for that assignment- and it will probably make a decent track toy when I instruct at HPDEs. When I fully retire in @2 years I'll pass it down to my son and find a CPO 1 Series M Coupe, an E92 M3 ZCP, or a Boxster S.

You will like it. I was thinking about passing this one in several years to fiance and getting Abarth too.But We will not need to have another car for a while. Most mods that I plan are interchangeable and will be easily removable.
So far it is great. Fun, head turner, especially because mine looks almost like regular underpowered 500 until it takes off with sport mode on.
They have good APR rates now (down to 1.9%), and this particular dealer offers better deal for trade ins than all around.

I just filled up second time today. 30.8 mpg average, mostly city and spirited driving.
Get vacuum pump if you want to change oil yourself, removing underbelly shield is not fun.
And yes, they have lots of track ready mods readily available. Check out 500madness website.

Ok, so here is some data. I received that cool metal fiat key chain which is also a USB stick. It had an APP "Fiat Eco drive" which you install to your PC and to the car onboard computer.
It monitors your driving habits, pattern and gives you advice how to improve mpg, how to shift right and so on.
So I had it installed since March 14th, along with bunch of music on USB stick.
I were not trying to save any fuel and I got some temporary part time job doing deliveries for short distances and all city traffic, 5 days a week.Rarely get on hwy as of now, also car is idling if we get very busy.
So up do date results:
Distance:478,23 Miles
AVG MPG: 27.66
Fuel used: 17.29 Gal
Fuel cost: $67.40
CO2 emitted: 342.41 lbs
I scored very poor at acceleration ( I guess I floor it to much).
Gear shifting-perfect
Deceleration- good
Speed- medicore

Filled up today and uploaded new data from Fiat ecodrive app.
I drove whole week doing deliveries without getting on the hwy, using sport mode, which changes timing and pedal sensitivity. More fun, MPG dropped from 27(previous tank, didn't use sport button) to 24.9, well I was shifting at higher rpms couple of day, since we got slammed with orders, so engine was running up and down for 5 hours non stop+ idling.
Anyway, totals from that app, as of today:
Distance tracked 752.59
AVG MPG 26.99
Fuel Used 27.89 Gal
Fuel Cost $108.73
CO2 emitted 552.16 lbs

Got flash drive after 2 weeks. 95% in city delivery driving. Totals as of Tuesday:
Miles monitored:1526.78
Avg mpg: 27.56
Fuel used:55.43 gal
Fuel cost:216.14$
CO2 emmited: 1097 lbs

Nice! Most of my driving for work is on the highway, so even with the Abarth I should get decent mpg numbers.

You may get even better than stock if you get "go pedal" device from madness. It has eco mode which claims to get most torque, but save fuel, over stock programming.plus several performance settings.
I ordered color matching short ram intake, will see how it infuence numbers after I install it.

Changed FF today, filled with older m1 0w-40.
Added Magneti Marelli Piggy back ECU with 3 modes and remote. Car is so much more fun now on race setting + Sport button (should be 156Hp and 183 Tq (stock Abarth has 160Hp/170 Tq)on those settings ).
Short ram intake will be delivered soon+ lots of little appearance things.

Resurrecting this thread...

How is the Turbo 500 doing MBS500? I'm still leaning towards an Abarth. Prices are all over the map; some dealers are offering upwards of $3,400 off sticker- if my dealer can come close to that and gives me high auction for my MS3 I'm probably in. The main issue will be finding one optioned the way I want: Leather, Comfort/Convenience, Beats Audio, 17" wheels- period. No hole in the roof, no nav, no white wheels- I guess now comes the thrill of the hunt...
