I just picked up a few jugs at my local Walmart. No Magnatec to be seen anywhere so I assume this is their replacement for it now. I like the bottles so I'll keep buying it. That's all that matters, right?

Lighting makes it look gold-ish in the pictures. It's silver though.What could be better than a gold bottle!
That's what I was thinking too. Tasted exactly the same as some Magnatec I still had laying around.

Same as Magnatec was. 19.97 or somewhere around that.

What’s funny is the DexOS license is different. Maybe they need to delicense it if the name changes?

Agreed. Thankfully, it appears to be still priced right ... at or below $20 for 5-qts of great oil.
I can't imagine that that's the case. Multiple oils use the same license # because they use the exact same formulations. Castrol must have made a formulation change.

If this is "Maximum protection to help extend engine life" what does Castrol Edge do for you?
Good marketing move as "GTX" was somewhat buried in the Magnatec moniker on the old green bottle:
GTX has the most cache for BP and should be prominent.
Now is Black bottle Edge gone?
