Haven't been able to drive my Maggie (1994 4.0l drop top
XJS) since early summer. And it does not look likely I'll
be able to drive anytime soon (or maybe ever again). My
wife doesn't like to drive it (she's short and doesn't like
that low a car).

I'm already moved ahead to a hospital in Manhattan, KS as I
wait for her to join me at Fort Riley. The house we'll be
moving into only has a one car garage so the Jag will be
outside all winter and on here.

Just feel like it's time to sell her. A couple of
questions: where to I find a good valuation? and where is
the best space to get a quick offer for her?

TIA,
TOny

I'd find a jag enthusiast forum and try and draw a consensus. Watch for "sharks". Let your enthusiasm spread among your likely peers.

I concur, those forums will give you realistic expectations on what you can get for it and wher the best place to sellit is.

Go to kbb.com (kellybluebook) and see the 4 levels of trade-in values plus sales value...
Go to edmunds.com for yet another view of values based on condition...

Expect a buyer to know these figures and offer to buy your car based on the worst/lowest evaluation....so maybe have the car detailed before you put it up for sale...

AutoTrader. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Craigslist is OK... but you might have a lot of low ballers coming to your house.

This is a specialist car with a limited audience.
Price guides like Kelly Blue Book are meaningless when pricing one of these, since there were never enough of them nor are there enough transactions to establish a market price.
This is neither an Accord nor a Camry, nor even a Benz or a BMW.
This was a very limited volume car with a very small number of potential buyers.
Therefore, check out Jag enthusiast sites and maybe offer the car for sale there.
Tell them everything you've done to the car as well as giving a realistic depiction of the car's condition.
You'll probably not sell this car quickly unless you're willing to sell it cheap.
It needs to go to a buyer who understands what he's buying.
I hope that you enjoy a swift and full recovery.
I find your words about not ever being able to drive again ominous, and I hope that does not prove to be the case.
I wish you all the best, for your sake as well as for the sake of your family.
Good luck to you.

Be carefull when dealing with a collector site/club, I had an experience in late '70s with a guy in the local Mustang club who was dealing in cars. He wasn't working, just living off car dealing. This guy was totally unscrupulous would do anything to purchase low and sell high. You expect a club member to be honest and treat a fellow member fair, I would pay attention to what apparent employ a potential purchaser might have, if none other than dealing, be carefull.

Good luck, take care
