Looked at an LX7317 up close today for the first time. What I could see looked fine, much like the P1 except gold paint. Louvers well formed and ~$8.50. That's less the P1 PL4610 on Amazon unless one can catch the $2 coupon they very occasionally have. And same as CQ Premium with 15% online code. At some point, may give one a try.

I don’t think they look bad personally, looking forward to seeing how they hold up in some C/P.
I really don't know. Years ago, WM added the basic then white L series filters, before they had silicone adbv. They didn't last very long before being closed out. As noted though, the LX price point is below what can generally be found for the P1/PL series, so 'seems' to be better value here. I imagine how long the LX last at WM, will depend on how they sell. 'If' I got same results as the PL/L/TL 14610-12 and US Bosch Prem 3323 I've used and c&p, then I think worth it.The price point is attractive. I have a feeling Walmart is going to make a killing with these.
If FRAM is smart in my opinion they would do the following.Endurance seem to have disappeared at my wally world, replaced by the pure oil later, id don't do a comprehensive search for them on closeout as i have enough filters to start a quick lube.
Anyway, kinda hope someone picks up the endurance. Maybe AA is a player.
Its very possible that Endurance was too expensive for your average WM shopper, $8-9 can sell better.
I'd add ... make the PH and TG an Ecore center tube with metal end caps design - like some seem to already be. Then people can't cry about "cardboard" end caps anymore. Nothing wrong with the Ecore center tube if made well.Change the Ultra design to the Endurance design (fix the rippled leaf springs), also drop the price because it would no longer be a Walmart exclusive.
Change the TG to the Ultra design and keep the Extra Guard basically the same but improve the pleat spacing.
PH = 8,000 miles $4
TG = 12,000 miles $8
XG = 20,000 miles $10 ($13 Endurance price is too high) add the suregrip everyone loves
I personally prefer Ecore, less risk of metal contamination, it is a proven design. Just seems like First Brands might be getting their QC issues hitting the Champ factory now.I'd add ... make the PH and TG an Ecore center tube with metal end caps design - like some seem to already be. I can remember people putting the $13 filter in the $4 boxThat was always my beef with the Endurance, it was a 9 dollar filter in a 13 dollar box.
What one in the thumb ?I've checked out 3 Walmarts in Southeast Michigan and another one in the Thumb region. None of them have Purolator 20,000's and they're all fully stocked up on FE filters.
Bad Axe.What one in the thumb ?
Thanks , what a name . Bad Axe .Bad Axe.
My WM just got in the new Purolator 20K oil filters for $9.87 ea. (#9688) so I bought one to try : All Gold (as in “Gold Finger Gold” color) with no end grip or all grip texture . The build quality looked good , the box indicated a Mann + Hummel brand USA build .
