My Walmart has dropped the Endurance for a new 20k Purolator

So basically they have a mobil1 in a Purolator box?
That's how I would interpret this statement on the corner of the box. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.Seems this new 20k:
- Media is a step up from the ONE but not quite as good as the Boss
- PuroSEAL Oring gasket seems to be similar to the Boss
- Both have Silicone ADBV
- Assuming mostly "Made in USA"?

cheaper media than the wire-backed Endurance and of course they're still prone to tears and/or ADBV slit

Not in my eyes. I cut few PROTECS Puro baseplate lately. 4 out of 5 had multiple tears and were onnengines less than 4500-5k. So, no the issue isn’t fixed.

Yep Purolator is still garbage plain and simple.
I used to be able to buy a Fram Ultra XG9972 full-synthetic for $8. Now they are blends.
I sent an email to CS requesting a spec sheet for efficiency data . Lets see how it looks. I'm guessing it will be similar to the ONE line.

It should come as no surprise they chose the gold color to "match" the Fram Ultra's along w/its 20k mileage rating.
This is important & should keep costs down. I'm sure theirs some foreigners in the mix though.

Just checked Purolator and WM online doesn't look like a subaru 14615 model is available yet in the Walmart exclusive LX line. Either its a gradual release or maybe Walmart is optimizing shelf space. I did see a LX10575 listed for 5.3/ 6.2 GM engines. Interesting how Purolator is keeping the Fram style of part# instead of using their own style. I would be thrilled if Purolator replaces Fram at WM om the air filter aisle.
