Sounds like a lot of highway driving and it sounds like you are good for another 200K miles. I would listen to others about the oil pump belt.

My car just went past 341k last week. People ask if I worry about it dying on a trip. No, if it happens I will junk it and rent a car to get home. However, I know of no reason to think it might die.

Problem is it several thousand to replace that belt. Have the shops dont want to do it. I may just let it go and swapnthe motor. Prob around same cost. 1500 for a motor with 30,000 miles all accessories included amd turbo. Another 1500 to install. About the same as the belt.....unsure how to go about this asdrealer wantes over $4,000 to do it. Crazy

There’s no way it’s a $4k job. Sump off, front cover off, chain off, replace belt, replace chain and guides and tensioner, front cover on, sump on. Done.

My Fiesta ST has this engine, and I look after two more Fiesta STs and two Focuses all with the 1.5L Dragon EcoBoost. I plan to replace the belts on all of them when they’re due. Not a huge issue to do them.

What do think it would cost. And who can i trust to do it? Dealer is way to costly! When I asked the service advisor....he says....just drive it,thats a $4000 job. I walk away scratching my head. Stuck here

I don’t know mate. I’m in Australia and I’m a mechanic, so I’ll be the one doing these ones. Not sure who to recommend in North America I’m sorry.

I would worry more about the Transmission than the engine!

I can already feel the converter shutter
