Most expensive car you saw at a quick lube?

Well, at least it proves this is something that happens worldwide. It's not uncommon to see expensive cars getting serviced at quick lubes here either. So long as the filter they are using is "Genuine", they could care less. Some go as far as using a branded oil, thinking it's going the extra mile.

Worst thing I've seen was a 2009 Bentley Continental GT coming into the dealership last year, complaining about engine noise. He was running Castrol GTX 20W-50 since he bought it, serviced at a quick lube. He kept insisting he used Castrol, and a genuine filter.

This is EXACTLY why BMW and other companies offer FREE maintenance (including oil changes) the first 4 years.

Because people are stupid. (or they just don't care)

This is why -when buying a NICE car - I look for records or a service history of some sort.

Money does not always = smart.

I took my FX in for an oil change at a Penzoil quick lube next to my house, there were two guys working there running the shop. They commented that my FX was one of the nicest cars they have had come through. That made me a little nervous because there are a lot of nice cars around here. I brought my own oil and filter (I was going to change it myself but ran out of time before a long road trip), I paid a minimal amount of money for the labor while I ate lunch.

I worked at QuickLube for a little while in high school. We actually had a pretty wide variety of cars come through and had a pretty good reputation. Other than the fact that we were a Quaker-Sludge shop. Most of the time the job was done right.
