Mobil 1 vs. Amsoil?

That TBN is just plain scary. Is it safe to assume then that oil retains its TBN on highway driving vs city (stop&go) driving?

EDIT:
farrarfan1 - Thanks for the link!!! I did a search but must have typed in the wrong thing.
edit;

I for one agree with you, Nickdfresh.

I have a hard time leaving GC 0w30 in for 10,000+ miles.

I'll have to change my oil every month but who wants varnish/sludge?!

It was a good link by ff1...

Well, you drive 10,000 miles in one month? Well, I was talking about a lot of stop and go driving over the course of a year...

I imagine the overall condition of the oil has more to do with time and driving habits than with actual miles...

Go two months.

I'd do 5060 miles in a month if I drove every work day. Usually carpool with co-workers and only drive a few times a week. Average 6,000 miles in a month. 4 hours of driving in a day is really fun!

Mobil 1's TBN after 20,000 miles was just scary... Would be cool if you could do 20,000 miles in that setting (w/ that much driving) for an accurate comparison between top oils.

Well, you could probably use either AMSOIL, GC, or MOBIL1 ED... I doubt there will be much difference...

Maybe the 0W-30 might be a little thinner than I'd like though for the summer Cali heat...

Actually, Amsoils' own tests shows their 10w-30/ATM has an advantage in terms of oxidative stability, volatility, low temp flow and wear protection, as shown in the four ball tests.

The add packs may now look similar, but clearly the basestock blends aren't the same...
