MolaKule - please pardon my ignorance but, what is "FM"?

How long has this debate been going on?
Previous claims were just false rumors. Recently, about 1.5 years ago to maybe more, Mobil appears to have been using some Grp III in certain grades. Everyone loves to take shots at the big guy and that is all this is. For people that know better, it's not the base oil that people have issue with, it's the mediocre performance from M1 at the premium price they charge.

Yeah, I guess Mobil 1 really sucks! I wonder what would happen if synthetic oil become obsolete for whatever reason, even blends, and all that was available were conventional oils in all the various brands. It would be cool to see all the madness end.
Funny thread. It's same old thing over and over again. On a good note, dbrowne1 made some good posts. He's a fellow VW 1.8T owner I know from vwvortex forums. And MolaKule made some excellent posts in this thread. Check it out people!
Funny how they were getting on dbrowne's case about race cars using off the shelf Mobil products.. He doesn't sound as crazy anymore after seeing that photo of Mobil 1 being poured into the race car.. Assuming it's the off the shelf formula.
I think it shows that Mobil 1 will be loved or hated forever.
