Daily driver, occasional track toy
Modified with increased power
SE USA (lowest is occasional mid-20s F, highs are 95+ F)
~5k mile OCI

Manual calls for 0W-20, but I'm looking at 5W-30s to keep oil pressure healthy.

ESP is a bit more expensive and harder to get (I don't live near an AutoZone and would have to buy a bunch for free shipping).

QSFS is easily delivered by Walmart for about as cheap as synthetic oil gets.

Thoughts?

Esp 5w-30 is $38 a jug so not it's that worth it but esp 0w-30 is$ 28 which is worth it. I'm using quaker state 5w-40 and it's $23 and better than the regular quaker state oils but it has to be ordered but fast shipping is free with a $35 minimum order. Castrol euro 5w-30/40 is $25 and is usually stocked on walmart shelves.

Walmart sells Mobil-1 ESP. Yo can have two jugs delivered to your home with free shipping.

QUAKER STATE "full synthetic" is a Shell product How bad could it be?

Are you looking for the absolute best, or are you looking for something that will do the job needed without complaint?

M1 ESP 5w30

Im
Using DELVAC 1 ESP 5w40 in a 13 year old daily driver focus without issues.

For Honda engines, with oil there is generally no wrong answer, but in this case the focus on these two oils, and especially on the ESP variety of Mobil 1 ESP deserve some scrutiny, as these oils are so very equivalent to products from Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline, and others. I would look for the best deal you can find on Amazon, with an more cosmopolitan perspective on brands. I have cared for many Hondas and Acuras over the past decades, and have never had an oil related failure using the factory recommended weight, but no meaningful issue with the weight you propose.

ESP is equivalent to other blender products that have the same approvals. However, based on UOA etc. ESP line up is generally top of the line.
ESP 0W30 is a far better product than this QS, which is an option here. QS does not have anything in the lineup that is on par with this ESP. The only thing that SOPUS has on the US market that is as sophisticated as ESP 0W30 is Pennzoil Platinum 0W30 Euro LX.
As for Honda, it is a tuned GDI engine. ESP 0W30 is the minimum that I would use here. And yes, Honda is known to have oil-related issues: VCM!

I don't see this as an oil pressure issue but more of a high stress protection issue on track to move up to a 30 grade. The QS product is fine. Folks here seem to love ESP. No wrong answer here.

As always, choosing adequate viscosity is more important than brand, when it comes to performance engines. My (now modified, 420HP V6) supercharged F-Type spec'd 0W-20 and 18K OCI's. No amount of magic Ti additive or special Jag spec will keep bearings and chains alive in that engine once modified. Heck, no 0W-20 is good enough even for unmodified Jag engines.

Of note, Jag increased the size of the rod bearings to allow the use of 0W-20. But left the mains the same size. Guess what wears out first????

I use M1 5W-30 EP and 5K OCI's. EP is a good choice as its an AN based synthetic with excellent high temp properties.

If I decide to bump up the HP to 475, I will probably choose a quality 5W-40.

Check out this nonsense! Jag made a V6 out of a V8 by removing the last two pistons! As cheap and cheesy as it seems, it turned out to be a spectacular engine.
