Mobil 1 AP on Youtube

Back in the '80s, M1 was advertised as "40,000km protection" in Oz, and in the '90s, I had agreement from Mobil with my 4Runner (3VZE) that 40,000km, or 1 year was fine...the "one year" was the clincher, if I did 5,000KM, that represented another type of driving that they suggested should be changed annually also.

Is this an updated version of Mobil's Extended Performance Oil from 2007 with a 15,000 mile change interval, and the addition of a disclaimer stating to follow the OEM drain interval.

I'd like them to try it over a period of 2 years with normal every day people driving .
I agree-spinning along indoors on a dyno (treadmill) with room temperature cold starts is NO SUBSTITUTE for real-life testing!

I'm the perfect candidate for this. I drive 30,000 miles a year on the interstate. And I'm a Mobil 1 fanboy. And a believer in extended oci. But I don't think it's a good idea in a di turbo. I am almost out of warranty though. Next month or two. May still give this a try with uoa.

I may be wrong but they only showed the tear down on one of the three vehicles in the test. Other two?

Also, as someone noted this is not the real world operating conditions. It would be very expensive and very time consuming to test in the real world but I do not think they would get the same results with the soccer mom vehicle doing 1 year interval in Canada, Or Wisconsin etc. Plus they continue to state on the container to follow the manufacturer's recommendation for warranty purposes.

$7

1. I like the Royal Purple gloves that are worn in the first half of the video.

2. You won't get your car stereo stolen anymore they'll just drop your drain plug and steal that expensive motor oil.

3.How much longer can companies like Pennzoil, Valvoline and Quaker State ignore the long drain OCI market?

TOTO.

Good question! I assume they didn't look so great when torn down at the end.
