Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

It would have been nice if Mobil put the better VM in Mobil 1 EP as well as 10% additional aW additive and didn't make TSUV at all. This goes back to the games these companies are playing with marketing. I mean do we really need a Truck & SUV oil? Just make two Mobil 1's. Mobil 1 OE and Mobil 1 EP which is top tier. That's it. I understand Mobil has to play the game but we're often left with too much redundant choices.

It's evident even by the recent M1 AC. Mobil 1 EP also states "Cleans your engine in 1 oil change". 🤦‍♂️

Can we see indications of this from VOA analysis compared to Mobil1 EP?
It was performance tested in HPL’s lab. PDSC results 75.02 min T&SUV vs 60.12 min EP. Viscosity retention 8.30 T&SUV vs 7.86 EP. It’s all in the vid posted.

Now if these formulas have changed due to the current situation who knows how they test now.

Ideal Mobil 1 line to me would look like this:

Mobil 1 OE - good for OE drains
Mobil 1 EP - boosted/non-certified (meets specifications but exceeds SA levels; in other words meets exceeds engine tests, but has boosted additive levels beyond API/ILSAC levels)
Mobil 1 Euro
Mobil 1 Motorcycle Oils
Mobil 1 Delvac

Maybe keep HM but get rid of AFE, HM EP, TSUV.

Done.

No, and that's a good example of how VOA/UOA isn't helpful for making conclusions on oil quality. The analysis of this came from more expensive lab testing showing greater ability resist oxidation and better viscosity retention. This wasn't Project Farm level testing where he adds up the total amounts of metals in a VOA and says one is better because it has more AW additives or something silly.
