Mobil 1 Truck and SUV

I am currently using 5w30 & 0w20 Mobil Truck & SUV. Purchased Advanced Auto clearance price. Have large stock pile accumulated by checking online stock while traveling.
Same here. On my Yota, switched from OEM 0w-16 to 0w-20 M1 T&S.
I’m looking forward to Truck & SUV High Mileage

I’m looking forward to Truck and SUV High Mileage Extended Performance 🤣
If regular M1T&S is a slow mover to begin with; don’t hold your breath. 😝

I'm currently running it in my 23 Colorado ZR2. No issues and the engine seems to like it. I plan on 5K OCIs and plan on doing a UOA on it next oil change.

Some time ago I heard that Mobil 5W-40 Truck & SUV and Mobil 5W-40 Turbo Diesel Truck are the same oil. They were simply marketed differently.

Didn't even get a chance to change oil and it blew up. At dealership at this time. Seems like an LSPI event as I was at red light then acceleration then knocking. Dealer changed oil 2k ago at 50k.
LSPI is normally associated with TGDI, while this 3.8L V6 is just DI, no turbo.

Pretty disappointing experience I expect though eh? I'm surprised they are only getting 310HP out of a 3.8L DI V6.

To know / understand truck & suv oil make up in order to make a more informed buying decision … Otherwise , we should all just buy Super Tech 5W30 and have no further oil discussions .
You have to understand that it’s marketing gamesmanship on the part of ExxonMobil.

A lot of people will be drawn in by that catchy name.

But like others have said, it has actually been tested to live up to at least some of the advertising.

I believe it’s a bit thicker with a bit higher HTHS than vanilla M1.

I agree. They have at least 10 other cases I read about. Several had gone from low rpms to passing vehicles to knock. Others would be in traffic and acceleration to side street then knock. All 2020 Frontier. At least I am driving a 25 Frontier for awhile. Do miss mine as I prefer it.
