Honest question. If Napa Synthetic had a few less ppm wear than PUP in Lakes single dyno run would you consider it better?Nonsense lol. This is why Lake is not here, he just doesn't want to argue with professional trolls
I will not be surprised if that happens, because NAPA oil is awesome too with same approvals.Honest question. If Napa Synthetic had a few less ppm wear than PUP in Lakes single dyno run would you consider it better?
No dexos on PUP.I will not be surprised if that happens, because NAPA oil is awesome too with same approvals.
Mobil 1 did not clean ring lands on problematic engines, so no, not just marketing. Maybe a chance find, or idea that came into a oil chemist thought in the middle of the night that fixes an issue a good chunk of engines have world wide.Funny, but every Mobil 1 oil I've used with any amount of PAO in it has kept my engines sparkling clean. So in my mind, it is strictly a marketing issue. Good on Valvoline.
Out of curiosity, does Valvoline Restore and Protect contain any PAO? If not, what is in it that is doing all the cleaning?
I'm currently running Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 in my Jeeps and it is still showing, IIRC less than or equal to 30% PAO, which is down from its older formulation, but still substantial, in my estimation.
How does it compare to a PAO based oil ?#1 is GTL on the advance clean
EP claims it removes sludge in one oil change. Their big claims are still there despite PAO going down.
That is a universal truth!Believing everything that oil companies write on their bottle labels is the same to me like expecting your Big Mac to look exactly the same as pictured on the MD menu or on TV commercials.
Well, they can be held liable for those claims, too.Believing everything that oil companies write on their bottle labels is the same to me like expecting your Big Mac to look exactly the same as pictured on the MD menu or on TV commercials.

Wonder why they did not release what should have been a good selling product for them?A MSDS was just created May 28th so the product is not released yet.
Keep in mind they also produced a Mobil 1 Turbo oil, which did even better than Mobil 1 Extended Performance on the stringent GM Turbo, test that was never released.
Could it be a Valvoline Restore and Protect competitor? Valvoline Restore and Protect is selling like crazy.
At 440 miles a day, this is precisely the application that puts the "up to" in "up to 20k miles." This is basically the same "always warm, always running" application that lets hot shotters get a million miles on their engines regardless of what oil they use or what engine they have. One of the first "million mile" Cummins engines in a pickup truck ran dino Delvac on 15k mile OCIs in the early 2000s. Some applications are just cake walk for engine and oil, and this particular one where the engine runs almost all day from a single not-super-cold-start is top of that list.
How long are you going to leave it in?Will my engine experience more wear if I run Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 vs. Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 0W-20 in my truck, while towing about 3000 Lbs. of equipment?
What makes Mobil 1 Truck and SUV stronger? I'm not challenging you, genuinely curious as to what it is due to. (higher flash point, add pack, etc.?)How long are you going to leave it in?
Mobil 1 Truck and SUV is a stronger oil that doesn't last as long. EP is a longer lasting oil that's not as strong. Think marathoner vs middle distance.
It has a more shear stable VM.What makes Mobil 1 Truck and SUV stronger? I'm not challenging you, genuinely curious as to what it is due to. (higher flash point, add pack, etc.?)
