mixing ATF's as benign as mixing oils?

I got a good deal on one this way. But should I have even put it on my F-350 as a preventitive measure or is the restriction a real concern?

ATF filter is good idea. If it clogs, the Magnefine will bypass and NOT be a flow concern.

Concerning the original post, mixing like specs fluids is OK.
With 60k miles a year of driving, I would consider a full flush with a full synthetic and a good full flow filter(and possibly bypass filter too). This way, you could extend the flush intervals much farther(50k-100k) and skip the drain/refills/pandrop hassles.

Unabused, it should easily last 200k!

A drainplug kit is also a worthy investment for those regular 10k drain/refills if you don't want to extend intervals.

M1, Ams, RP, RL... are all good fluid choices. I might even consider DexronVI if you want a fluid that is more readily available at local stores.

I haven't checked back with this thread often. Trans filters are used by just about every reman shop in existence. They all have bypass mechanisms ..but I really think that they don't need them. Unless some unique odd new deal comes along (like the Asians like to do from time to time) ..this is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. It would be extremely hard for a filter, even as compact as a Magnefine, to trump even a 1/2" line of the length that most have in typical installations. Every cooler, even the cross flow rad type (vs. the single path tube w/turbulators ), drops/elevates pressure more than a filter would.

So, unless there's something new under the sun (like you see some service bulletin or a * next to a cooler vendors ad that says "*not for use on 200X Nissan bla-blas equiped with 6 speed Jujistu trans" ..then I just can't figure any problem with either auxiliary cooling or filtration. The two are interchangeable in terms of any alterations to the fluid flow. Cooling being by far the more altering.
