If price and availability is not a concern to you, then there shouldn't be any other downsides.

In 90"s everything was much higher saps, cats and sensors lived happily.

You say that, but the dreaded P0420 code is far less common now than it was 20+ years ago. O2 sensors failed more frequently in the past as well, with some manufactures even having replacement reminder lights in the 80s.
