Will running 5W30 in non turbo CX5 2.5 S offer more engine protection and longer engine life? Plan to keep vehicle for over 100k miles. Turbo specs 5W30 so dealers should have it readily available.

Oil from manual
Mazda Original Oil Supra 0W-20
API SL/SM/SN or
ILSAC GF-III/GF-IV/GF-V
Mazda Original Oil Ultra 5W-30
Alternative Oil Quality
API SN*4 or ACEA A5/B5
0W-20
5W-30

I am a 0/5w-30 fan over 0/5w-20. However, if you take it to a dealer, they will only put what is recommended by Mazda as a primary fluid.

I have the turbo, but if I didn't, since I do my own changes, I would still go with the 0/5w-30

You want to use a non Vietnam made filter to get the longest life from the engine .

The filters used by Mazda come in three flavors: Japan, Thailand, and USA. The USA filters are deemed the "value" filters by Mazda. There are no filters used by Mazda that are made in Vietnam.

Just FYI and somewhat related, this is what Mazda specs for the CX-50 Hybrid which is the RAV Hybrid powertrain. Dealers will only use this upon request or in warranty work. Customer pay oil changes get bulk 0W-20 for non-turbos and 5W-30 for 2.5Ts.

Very interesting to see Mazda's running Toyota hybrid tech. Do US market
2.5 L A25A-FXS I4 have 14:1 compression ratios? That would be higher than US Skyactiv 13:1.
