Sorry, I missed the Rx in that litany of overpriced solvents. I don't have any idea about what's in that product.
However, it would be really funny it were something like lanolin, though!

As to MMO, I just use white kero in the gas tank, $1.00 is about 1/3 gallon which is about 2 treatments worth. Some of this kero will end up in the oil anyway, but a diesel flush will soften the carbon and varnish and rinse it away.

Don't mfgrs only have to list HARMFUL ingredients on MSDSs? Couldn't the 'active' ingredient in Techron not show up on the list?

TC,

It appears that the MSDS reporting on Techron is simply giving you the petroleum distillates that may be harmful during misting, which is required.

They don't have to report any proprietary ingredient or organic component they may be using in addition to the distillates mentioned above.

What I try to convince everyone is that the MSDS does not tell all, and that is not the purpose of an MSDS in the first place.

Its a petroleum based product.

For what it's worth, I dumped several bottles into the gas tank of a 1987 Chevy Nova that my mother in law and gunked up by only driving a mile at a time for several years. It was well on the way to cleaning things out when the transmission failed.

Best smelling stuff out there....

Countryboy Just add a half a quart to the 5 quarts and drive it till the lifter sound good to you. It sometimes takes a few applications but most of the time one treatment does it.

DO not get caught in Michigan spraying WD-40 on bait. THe DNR Department of Natural Resources will string you up and let you swing! I think I was told one that amines are what attracts the fish!

What was hilarious was when someone thought "bunker" oil was from the fish!
