I have a pair of motorcycle race boots. They have a sliding plastic mechanism designed to prevent the ankle from over extending in any direction.

The boots came with a silicon gel lube which does not last long at all. When the lube is gone, the ankle protection mechanism makes a lot of noise.

I am wondering if there would be a better lube for this application.

Oxtar TCS EVO RX

Thanks for the tips.

California is a sports car and motorcycle paradise, especially the San Francisco Bay Area. I love it.

I work in a refienery, so there is little "kookiness" to deal with.

While searching, I realized that I have a silicone & krytox teflon spray at home(I just remembered it as being silicone spray until I saw the can online). I'll have to try that.

Thanks for the tips.

Now how do you suppose I knew that? Hehehe...

On mine, I use a DuPont Teflon spray lube that I picked up at Lowe's. I don't recall which one it is specifically, as I've got a couple of different ones. It dries after application and is also good for lubing your drive-chain.

If it'll help, I'll check out which one it is and post it when I get home.

Cheers

Thanks. I'll pick up a can. I think the Dupont Silicone w/Krytox Teflon would have worked, but I can't find it. Must have got lost in the move...

I think the product you mention will be even better.

What I wound up with was Dupont Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax Lube.

I applied it about a week ago and ridden about 750 miles since, getting the boots wet once.

They are still quiet. I am very happy.
