Doesn't Chrysler specifically say DO NOT use a 3rd party fluid unless it is licensed ATF+4?? Seems to me that's a big red flag against using a multi vehicle ATF, where ATF+4 is specifically called for.

To me, Lubegard Red was to enhance durability, cleaning, and heat resistance of older conventional fluids that maybe were lacking in quality. I find it hard to believe that they improve a modern synthetic fluid. It would be like installing an additive to Mobil 1 or PP oil.
I've been using MaxLife + Lubegard since my Kia ran out of warranty and that's been about 60k miles now. I haven't noticed any ill effects and the tranny runs great but I am beginning to rethink if the Lubegard is necessary at all??? I D&F the trans fluid every 2yrs per the manual, so I won't need to do it again until next spring but maybe I'll just go with the MaxLife only to replace the spec SP3. (which can be expensive if you use the OE stuff)
