used ATF ?.... The ATF (Mercon V) in my vehicle totals 7 quarts. Can I add 7 oz. of Lubegard Red to the used ATF....to extend the ATF's life....and have the transmission fluid run cooler?

The ATF is still red...and my transmission is working just fine. I want Lubegard in....just for preventive purposes.

If you plan to keep the old ATF for 2-3 years then add Lubegard Red will help. If you plan to change the ATF in about a year or less then add LR when you have new fluid in.

+1. It wont hurt (Im assume LG red is the right add for Merc V), but if the fluid is worn/oxidized/old, you would be better suited to change it and then add LG to a new batch to help maintain its performance.

How about this: Buy their transmission cleaner and their additive combo pack from Amazon, use the cleaner if service is planned within less than a year and simply use it as per the instructions for a sooner servicing, then do whatever is needed and add the Red bottle to the new fluid = good.

Lubegard says small amounts of the transmission cleaner leftover after the drain isn't an issue.
