LubeGard Red Questions

Hello Guy's,

I just bought a bottle of Lubegard Red and the directions says to add 1 oz. per quart of "ATF" to the total transmission capacity, I have a 95 Bmw 325is and my transmission capacity is 8.8 quarts...Do i add the whole bottle? The capacity for a service change is 3.2 quarts. I'm using Castrol Dex/merc...Thank's

yes you have 8.8 qts total

Hard to overdose on Lubegard, pour the whole bottle in. I have heard of people doubling up on the dosage (two full bottles), but I have never heard of any problems from Lubegard. It is probably the safest transmission fluid additive available.

Lubeguard Red is a good product.It took around 2500 miles before I began noticing an improvement. My transmission was suffering from morning sickness for the last two years. Lubeguard is the only product that helped.

If you utilise a good product in the first place then you do not need aftermarket 'additives'.

I have used LubeGard RED on several occasions but more as a PM than due to having issues.

Yea, good 'Ol Sam! I haveh't seen nor heard anything about Sam & Dave in a long, long time! Wonder what they're doing these day?

I used a whole bottle of red on my 2000 Accord which has 6.5 qt capacity, no problems. In fact the original transmission is working fine at 170k miles.

Is Archoil 9100 a safe and viable alternative to LG red for an automatic trans? If so, how much would you add per quart or gallon of ATF? I see you are using both their Biotech engine additve and Archoil, are you using both together? If so what have you noticed by using them both together vs. either by themselves? And if you are using both, what amounts of each per quart of oil?

You DO NOT want to use a friction modifier of any sort in an automatic transmission.

Exact and very specialized friction modifiers are already in the ATF.
