Perhaps you should ween yourself gradually. I have been drinking the same amount of fluid (coffee) each day, but making it with less coffee grounds, eventually supplementing the mix with decaf.

That was in some internet office joke:

Slowly switch the entire office over to decaf. In two weeks switch to expresso.

..Cultivate a Norwegian accent. If Norwegian, devolop a southern drawl...

I like drinking coffee. I've been a coffee drinker for many years. But I'm not addicted to caffeine. I could stop at any time if I wanted to....

One shot - two shots of expresso for me everyday. If I miss, no difference in how I feel I just miss the taste. Everything in moderation in life.

Caffeine doesn't seem to bother me in any way. I can drink quite a bit at night and still sleep the same way as I would anyway(which isn't good anyway). I drink coffee when I want, but if I don't want it, I'm fine. But I drink loads of green tea andI still do the Diet Coke.
I have, however been off sugary things since May 1, just to see how I feel; and I don't feel any different.

eSpresso, eSpresso. Yep, 2 double espressos every morning. A little brewed whatever-it-is at work. Then, 2 double espressos after work. Espresso has less caffiene, but it gets into your blood stream quicker. Nice bounce.

Nate, you still here? The coffee topic will bring you out.

Drew,
Congrats, you are 100% correct, I've never taken a single college course let alone psychology. But this doesn't make me an ignorant being. I have the ability to read and study all on my own, with no politically leaning professor to hold my hand. Now, that said, I really don't see a valid comparison between marijuana and pot. especially from a pscychological point of view. Most people even claim that pot isn't addicting, of which I'm not one. We all know that caffeine is addicting in most cases. As a clarification of my point of contestment, the following sentence was what I was responding to:

"Caffine is a phsycoactive drug, just like marijuana or any other narcotic."

All I'm saying is that this statement could lead some to believe that caffeine is "just like any other narcotic".
That's all I'm saying. I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful of your opinion, I just want to make sure that some ignorant minded person doesn't read that and think "hey, my pot smoking isn't so bad, it's the same as what coffee drinkers do"....and believe me, I've heard that already at my place of work.

Pablo, Did you know that black tea, green tea, and white tea all come from the same plant! The portionof the the tea leaf harvested, when it is harvested and how it is processed all determine if it is Peko Black,Grean or White tea. So if you prefer black tea you can get the same anti-oxidents and natuaral esters that you get from green tea but with a more robust roasted flavor. I like Tetley British Blend. THe British blend uses more premium tea and more tea per bag. If you can buy your tea leafs shole that is even better!!! I do not have any good tea houses nearby though!

Age of 17, I used to drink 5-6 cups of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee a day (my boss was a coffee freak who got me hooked, paid for my habit). I noticed after awhile that I was snapping at people, and my personality was worse than I would expect for a teenaged boy.

I quit cold turkey. For two days, I thought I was going to kill someone. On day 3, I woke up feeling like a haze had been washed away... my mind was clear, my temperament was neutral, and I felt pretty good.

I've never been able to drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day since then... I should consider quitting again, but I admit, I love the good stuff!

I gave in.

And I'm a better man for it.

I just did a baggie of the cheap stuff - if I did the usual good stuff after three days of nothing I would have gone into convulsions.

Gotta go now, I think the 26 mile marathon starts in a few minutes!!

I quit drinking anything with caffiene in it about a year ago. I must have been lucky-I never had any "withdrawl" symptoms that others talk about. However I sure felt better once I quit the caffiene. I too quit cold turkey.

I feel far better now than when I drank caffiene. I don't have the jitters, I'm much more clear headed and able to focus.

Another thing I did was stop drinking any type of soda. After seeing some information from my dentist about "soda pop mouth" I'd prefer my teeth didn't end up like that. We have a couple of people in the workplace that drink liters of Mountain Dew every day. Then they complain they can't sleep. Go figure.

You're on the right track-just stick with it.

I never starting drinking coffee until I was 30 years old. I suffer from migraines and coffee helps alleviate it. Some migraine medicine (Cafergot) contains a strong dose of caffeine.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought the 315mg capsules made by Rexall. They have double the green tea than the ones I bought at Target. Take four a day in pairs.

Carlo Malacon's (me) Energy Supplement:
1 Multivitamin of your choice (i use the Member's Mark with Herbs)
1 Vitamin B Complex pill
2 Green tea extract pills

Take that right after you eat breakfast or in the morning if you don't eat breakfast (which you should!)

After lunch, take two more green extract pills. If you have a presentation that you need to work on late late night for a meeting in the morning, take 1 or 2 more after dinner.

JohnBrowning - Green tea it the only tea to give antioxidents that speed your metabolism and lose weight. Why do you think the Asians drink it with great frequency? The green tea leaves are steamed and not fermented like white and black teas. The Fermentation converts ECCG to compounds that don't offer the same advantages as Green Tea.

I was told by one doctor that Cafergot was off the market ..but google shows it to be alive and well.

I too suffered from migranes (assumed to be sinus headaches) and it relieved the INTENSE AND UNMERCIFUL PAIN. Mine was termed "cluster headaches" since they appeared to happen in bouts with no apparent frequency. Midrin (spl) was quite effective and totally side effect free (apparent).

Coffee has always been my friend..

Coffee is GOOD.....Coffee is GOOD....Coffee is GOOD....repeat. Lol.

The smell of a fresh pot of coffee always makes my mouth water and my desire to drink it increase like a madman! Or how about when you first open a fresh can or grind up some new beans....beautiful!
